Fifth painting of the series “Intimidades”
Intimidades V closes this series with a quieter and more contemplative energy. In this piece, the figure is kneeling and slightly turned, almost as if caught in a moment of reflection. The pose is gentle and grounded, showing a body that is learning to be comfortable with its own presence.
The background mixes deep blues, reds, and subtle splashes of light — colours that for me represent memory, emotion, and the unresolved thoughts that stay with us. It feels like the inner space we visit when everything around us finally goes quiet.
The line of the figure is simple and transparent, almost blending into the background. That was intentional. I wanted to end the series with a sense of integration — of the self becoming part of its own emotional world rather than fighting against it.
For me, Intimidades V is about acceptance. It’s the moment when you stop running from yourself and allow your inner landscape to be what it is. A calm, honest, intimate ending to a journey that began with openness and vulnerability.
