What would Che do?

£400.00

“What Would Che Do?” comes from a question that has followed me since I was a teenager. Back then, I read a lot about Che Guevara — not as a symbol on a T-shirt, but as a man whose thoughts, words, and actions were aligned. Very few people manage that in life. Whether you agree with him or not, there was coherence. And that stayed with me.

This painting isn’t about idolising Che. It’s about the question he left behind. What would Che do — right now? It’s a question that returns to me in moments of doubt, injustice, or moral confusion. When things are not black and white. When comfort clashes with responsibility.

The face in the painting is tense, almost fractured by colour. That reflects the internal dialogue — the constant negotiation between what feels right and what is easy, between action and silence.

For me, this work is about ethics more than politics. About living with that uncomfortable question in your head and allowing it to challenge you. What is the right thing to do, right now? And more importantly — will your actions match your beliefs, or will they drift apart?
